Enter the Proboscideans!

Hey Paleo fans, we have an exciting new collaboration underway bringing one of the best known prehistoric animals into action figure form- the Wooly Mammoth! Commissioned by natural history content creators, PBS Eons, we at Creative Beast Studio designed and developed the most detailed and scientifically accurate Wooly Mammoth action figures ever! But as with Beasts of the Mesozoic, we'll need your help to make these beautiful new figures a reality.

Wooly Mammoth

Sculpted by animal anatomy master, Jun Huang, and articulated by our own Ross Persichetti, this 1/18th scale Wooly Mammoth figure is a whopping 9" tall and 14" long with tusks included.

The figure boasts 24 points of articulation, including a bendy wire trunk and even has poseable ears!

The figure's massive size would rival the largest of Beasts of the Mesozoic Tyrannosaurs or Ceratopsians!

Wooly Mammoth calf (baby)

Standing 2.5" tall and 3.5" long, the baby Wooly Mammoth is the perfect little companion piece to the adult Mammoth!

Designed and sculpted by Ross Persichetti, the baby Mammoth sculpt was based on the Lyuba specimen- a mummified baby mammoth!

Despite it's small size, this figure still sports 18 points of articulation and features a bendy wire trunk!

Articulation and construction

Each figure was designed to maximize poseability and maintain a realistic range of motion, while maintaining the anatomical forms of the original sculpt as much as possible.

And we have more planned than just Mammoths!!

A natural history of prehistoric elephants. Can we unlock all of them?

For any questions regarding the Eons Prehistoric Elephants campaign, please contact [email protected] or check out their helpful FAQ section.

I hope you all will consider supporting this project however you can- back, share, and follow along in the community section. We love celebrating the deep history of our natural world and we want to get as many amazing prehistoric animals into your action figure collections as possible. With help from companies like Eons, this becomes more of a reality than ever!

Thank you all as always and I hope to see you on Eons Prehistoric Elephants BackerKit campaign!

Wave 3 Fulfillment shipping Monday- Preorders ending soon!
10 months ago – Sat, Jan 27, 2024 at 04:32:06 PM

It is indeed that time- time to conclude the journey that is the Beasts of the Mesozoic Tyrannosaur Series as we welcome the arrival of the final wave of figures!

Wave 3 Fulfillment begins Monday, Jan. 29th!

Wave 3 has officially been received at our warehouse and added to our inventory as of this writing. Fulfillment shipments will begin on Monday morning, so consider this your last call to submit any address changes!

UK and EU fulfillment

Our UK fulfillment partner, Everything Dinosaur, has also just received their supply of Tyrannosaurs wave 3 and they will be shipping orders to our UK and EU backers very soon as well. Again if you need to make edits to your address, please let us know asap!

Wave 3 Preorders ending soon!

For those that missed the Kickstarter or are just looking fill out your existing orders, January 31st is the final day to take advantage of the preorder pricing for the Tyrannosaur Series 3 assortment, including the reissued Styracosaurus!

You can find the preorder store listings in our shop, here, or just click the image above. (Please note that the Utahraptor and Achillobator are not part of this assortment.)

Guanlong oversold- reissue coming soon

While we're very excited to reach the end the 'Tyrannosaur Series' for most backers, there is one small caveat that must be mentioned here.

Due to a stock counting error on my part, we ran out of the Guanlong sooner than expected and we have unfortunately come up short by a quantity of 33.

While we were able to close out most of our pending orders, this will affect some Guanlong orders that have been held with wave 3 items. On a positive note however, this figure was much more popular than initially expected! Because of these factors, Guanlong will be getting a second release along side the Utahraptor and Achillobator this spring. For those that did miss out on this release, look for the preorder listing in the coming week.

If you are still owed a Guanlong, I'll email you next week and confirm this with you. Upon arrival of this second release, Guanlong will be shipped to fulfill those orders automatically. I will also be providing a $25 gift card for creative-beast.com, as a 'thank you' for the patience of those affected by this error. Again, I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.

New Gorgosaurus preview video

Just a quick note here to mention that we have a fun new preview of our Gorgosaurus up now on our YouTube channel!

Come back next week as Chris previews another wave 3 Tyrannosaur- Albertosaurus!

As we conclude this chapter of the Beasts of the Mesozoic, I hope that you all will continue to follow us on  Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, as well as the 'News' section of my website for more animal action figure progress!

And if there are any (non exclusive) Tyrannosaur action figures that you missed, you'll find them here.

Before I wrap this up, let's take a moment and appreciate what we've achieved! It has been an amazing journey to bring this line of action figures to you all, and I can't express enough gratitude for the support and love that this project has received since its inception. We've grown so much as a community, and the experience gained with this series will only be built upon with our future releases.

Thank you all once again, and I will see you next on Gaea 2!

Wave 3 enroute to the US- Final Samples, Early Reviews and more!
11 months ago – Thu, Dec 28, 2023 at 09:38:12 AM

Happy holidays everyone! As we close out an exciting 2023, we await the final wave of the Beasts of the Mesozoic Tyrannosaur Series, still set to fulfill by the end next month. And who couldn't use something to look forward to in January? Let's dig in to another big update as we take a look all of the latest developments for this final Tyrannosaur set!

Closing out the Tyrannosaur Series in-style. What a handsome group!

Wave 3 'on the water'

Our big shipment of the Wave 3 assortment left China as of Dec. 10th and is now expected to reach the US port on Jan. 16th. We ended up shipping a couple of weeks later than originally expected due to the factory requesting more time for the paintwork, and the sea freight was recently set back a week as well, but we're still hoping to begin fulfillment before the end of January. We're so close now!

With the final assortment now on the way, if anyone needs to have their shipping address updated, now is the time to message me. I should also note that Everything Dinosaur will be fulfilling the UK and EU orders around the same time as us here in the US.

This news means that you all have about one more month to take advantage of the preorder pricing for this assortment, which also includes the Styracosaurus reissue in the updated packaging!

Final product check

Just before being packed up and loaded into the shipping container, I had photos taken of the final products to check the quality. (We'll take a closer look at this package design a bit later.) Here's a sampling of the final samples!

Paint samples

We also have the last four paint samples to take a look at, for the big Body 4 types, and from what I can tell so far, the extra time allowed to the factory was well worth it!

Our big bad body 4 Tyrannosaurs

 Daspletosaurus

 Tarbosaurus

 Albertosaurus

Gorgosaurus

You can find plenty more photos of these big fellas on my social media

Final packaging

Now that everything is packed up an on its way, we can take a proper look at the final in-package items! Big thank you once again goes to Steve Melick for his help with the excellent package design.

Despite our efforts to avoid it (and we've avoided many) there's rarely an assortment without some kind of packaging error. Can you spot it here?

Early reviews

While we impatiently await the arrival of wave 3, we at least have early reviews to watch for each figure! I've sent production samples to Andy's Dinosaur Reviews, Dino Scream Reviews, and SpinoDude and all have done a fantastic job giving us a early look at each new item.

Check out the review videos and please be sure to support their channels if you enjoy their content!

We're leading off with a fan-favorite, Lythronax argestes, so be sure to check that out!

Wave 3 Test Shots and new paint samples!
about 1 year ago – Tue, Oct 17, 2023 at 07:59:37 PM

Hi All- Although there's a lot going on right now with the new Cyberzoic Kickstarter campaign, I wanted to take a moment give you all an update on the status of the Tyrannosaurs wave 3 assortment. Things are moving right along and everything is looking great so far, with no new delays to report. These are still estimated to begin fulfillment around the end of December or early January.  With that, let's jump right in and check out the latest!

Click to check out the current preorders

Body 4 Test Shots

Tooling has been completed for the final Tyrannosaurs and the body 4 types are now in functional plastic. I think these will prove to be our best yet!  Joint range is good and movements are smooth; the torso plastic is just flexible enough to not impede the side-to-side movement; the wire tail runs longer for a more natural bend; and the balance without the base is pretty solid. Though you'll probably want to still have both standing legs in place for that- we can only cheat gravity so much.

Here's a look at the test shots!

Albertosaurus

Daspletosaurus

Gorgosaurus

This pose is an homage to one of my favorite paleoartists. If you know, you know.

Tarbosaurus

We're expecting to see paint samples for these within the next week or so. I'll be posting on my social media as soon as I have photos.

Current Paint Samples

We do have paint samples for the figures that were already tooled, so let's have a look!

Alectrosaurus

Eotyrannus

Moros

Next time we'll have the rest of the paint samples to show, as well as a look at the package designs.

Catalog Shots

The catalog shots are one of my favorite parts of getting new figures. And here are the latest ones for this wave!

Alectrosaurus

 Daspletosaurus

 Eotyrannus

 Gorgosaurus

 Moros

 Tarbosaurus

You can still lock in your preorder for these beasts at creative-beast.com or on BackerKit.

Cyberzoic Kickstarter!

I'm sure some of you have been following the Cyberzoic Kickstarter campaign now in progress, and if you are- THANK YOU! We've fully funded our initial offerings and have also unlocked or first three stretch goals! I know most of you here are mainly interested in the animals, so here's what's currently available for pledge:

And in case anyone is nostalgic for the Dino Riders toys of the 80's, we have this Kickstarter exclusive set based on the 'Ice Age' Sabre Tooth Tiger!

And I have to also mention that we've funded our first dragon!

Arctic Dragon- Kuraokami

And the next stretch goal is the Cyberzoic Dryptosaurus aquilunguis!

The campaign ends on Nov. 2nd at 9pm EST- please support and share however you can! The success of this Kickstarter greatly benefits the future of the Beasts of the Mesozoic line as well, due to all of the shared species opportunities.

That's a wrap for now. I just want to close by thanking you all for being so patient, I know it's been a while since I sent out a true update on the Tyrannosaurs, as it's been a challenge to get to with the big Kickstarter push going on right now. But know that nothing ever stopped and we've continued to move forward with these figures as planned without interruption.

As always , you can stay up to date with all of our progress via my  Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. or you check out the 'News' section of my website , updated each weekend. And be sure to sign up for our newsletter at creative-beast.com for updates, discounts and giveaways!

I'll be back with more news before you know it. Take care everyone!

The Cyberzoic Kickstarter is now LIVE!
about 1 year ago – Tue, Oct 03, 2023 at 02:32:32 PM

The Cyberzoic Era is here!

Hi All,

I just wanted to drop a brief update today to let you all know that Cyberzoic Kickstarter campaign has begun and as of this writing we've just crossed $100, 000!

The starting line up for Cyberzoic. Click the image to go the campaign and learn more!

The launch items include the Arctic Dragon, Allosaurus, and Smilodon as well as their respective armors and riders. And if you're only interested in the animals, that's not a problem because everything can be bought separately or together!

If you're not sold yet, I encourage you to at least check out our epic video:

Don't see what you want in the current batch? Well, the good news is that we have plenty of stretch goals planned too!

All possible Cyberzoic offerings, minus the secret exclusive.

This is a huge, ambitious offering and we're really trying to do what the larger toy companies can't take a risk on, even more so than usual. That being said, we can really use all the support we can get. Please share, follow, and back the project early if possible. The pricing is at it's absolute lowest for each item and you can save even more with the bundle sets. I also have plenty of behind-the scenes design and development updates planned, as well as stretch goal additions as we go along. There's even a Kickstarter exclusive set that won't be revealed until after we meet our initial funding goal.  What could it be?

Any guesses? The colors are a hint.

Thank you so much for your support thus far and I hope to see you in the Cyberzoic!

You know you want to check it out. Who doesn't like dinosaurs with lasers?

- David

PS: The Tyrannosaur wave 3 development is still moving along! Test shots are done and paint samples are starting soon for the larger figures. I'll have a dedicated update for them in a few weeks!
